How to Get a Full Night’s Sleep for Less than $500
Posted April 02, 2019 07:17:17I know I said this week that sleep is the most important thing to do during a long weekend, but it’s also a major reason why I can afford to have so much fun.
If you’re looking to make the most of your weekend, here are 10 tips that will get you back on track in no time.1.
Don’t skip out on sleep.
If you’re not spending enough time getting enough sleep, you’ll get tired quickly.
You’ll also find that it takes less sleep than you think it does to become fatigued, which is a big plus if you’re spending a lot of time on the couch and/or sleeping in.
I’ve found that the first couple of nights of the week, I tend to spend more time on my phone than I do sleeping, and I’ve been able to sleep about 10-15 hours less than I should.2.
Get to bed early.
You may not have enough time to do anything before bed, so getting to bed earlier is important.
It’s also important to get to bed in a healthy, relaxed, and awake position, so you can sleep naturally.
Find a quiet place to sleep.
I have to admit, I’m not the best sleeper, so finding a quiet spot to sleep is always a challenge.
Get a bed that fits you.
Getting a room that fits the shape of your body is key.
For example, if you weigh 190 pounds, your room might be perfect for a skinny person, but a tall person might want to try a room with a higher mattress height.
Make sure your bedding is up to code.
I recommend making sure your mattress is at least two inches taller than your head, and up to four inches wider than your body.6.
If possible, avoid noise.
A good way to avoid noise is to leave the bedroom at night.
Try to keep your schedule a little flexible.
I try to make sure that I don’t have too much sleep, so if I’m on a long week and have to go out for work, I can still go out on the weekend and stay awake.
Go out on a regular basis.
If your schedule is too rigid, you may end up falling asleep and waking up in the middle of the night.
You can use a timer to wake you up if you find yourself falling asleep early.9.
Find out what’s going on in your life.
If something bothers you, go check in with your doctor or mental health professional.
You might find out that you need to work on a problem with your sleep schedule, or you might find that you’ve had a bad day at work and you’re feeling exhausted.
Take a deep breath.
Now that you know these 10 tips, you can get back to your daily routine and enjoy your weekend!
