This year’s Super Bowl will be played on New York’s Times Square, with the New York Jets and New York Knicks taking on the New England Patriots and Atlanta Falcons.
The game will also be televised live by ESPN.
The New York media is expected to be very well supplied with coverage, with a number of teams expected to make their Super Bowl debuts.
The NFL will be making its debut in New York City in 2017.
Here are the projected teams for the biggest game in 2017:Atlanta FalconsAtlanta FalconsThe Atlanta Falcons will be looking to repeat their 2017-18 season-best 17-2 start, with quarterback Matt Ryan and wide receiver Julio Jones expected to start at quarterback.
Atlanta has one of the NFL’s top offensive lines, led by offensive tackle David Bakhtiari and defensive end Vic Beasley, who are both expected to play.
Atlanta has also added a new cornerback in Josh Shaw, who will be starting opposite Patrick Peterson.
The Falcons have a plethora of talent on the defensive side of the ball, led primarily by the play of cornerback Desmond Trufant.
Atlanta ranked sixth in the NFL with 6.2 yards per play allowed, with four players recording double-digit sacks.
Atlanta’s defense is led by linebacker Anthony Barr, who is a three-time Pro Bowler and a four-time All-Pro.
They have also added defensive end Adrian Clayborn and linebacker Justin Durant, who have started all 16 games.
Tennessee TitansTennessee Tennessee is poised to take its first step towards the Super Bowl since the 2007 NFC Championship game.
The Titans’ defense, led mainly by safety T.J. Green, has been dominant throughout the season.
The team ranks fourth in the league with a defensive DVOA of 101.7%, with two players posting double-digits.
Tennesse will have the benefit of playing in a dome that will provide plenty of natural light for its players to practice, and the team’s defensive front seven will be stacked with talent.
The Tennessee secondary will feature six Pro Bowlers in the secondary, including cornerback Marcus Cooper, who has been named to the Pro Bowl six times in his career.
Tennessee has a young quarterback in redshirt freshman Derek Carr, who should be able to take advantage of the Titans’ top-ranked defense in 2017, according to Pro Football Focus.
New England PatriotsNew England is one of two teams that will not have a game scheduled in New Orleans in 2017 as the Saints have their home opener against the Denver Broncos on Saturday, March 9.
The Patriots have been without their starting quarterback, Rob Gronkowski, for much of the year with a torn ACL.
New England will be without linebacker Chandler Jones, who was released by the team in March, and linebacker Kyle Van Noy, who did not make the Pro Football Hall of Fame list last year.
New York will also have to play the Atlanta Falcons in the Superdome in a matchup that will likely be decided by a touchdown or a field goal.
The Patriots have a strong defense that features linebacker Jerod Mayo and cornerback Darrelle Revis, who combined for 53 passes defensed in 2016.
New Orleans is also projected to be a top-five defense in pass defense, allowing only 30.5 yards per game and allowing just 18.7 points per game.
New Orleans is projected to have the league’s best defense in terms of yards allowed per game at 39.1, while ranking first in scoring defense with a whopping 27.4 points per contest.
The Saints have one of NFL’s best rushing defenses, led largely by Leonard Fournette.
The New Orleans defense is anchored by three Pro Bowl linebackers in Jamie Collins, Junior Galette and Kenny Vaccaro.
The defense has also been bolstered by two Pro Bowl safeties in Delvin Breaux and Tamba Hali.
