Haiti Football team will play against Bahrainians

Haiti will play Bahrainians in a pre-season friendly on July 31.

The match is the first of a seven-match pre-seasons that Haiti and Bahrain will play together.

The Bahrain International Football Association said Haiti had been invited to play the match against Bahrain.

Bahraini coach Faisal al-Khashoggi said Haifa’s players would receive the welcome in the capital.

“This is the biggest challenge for us, as we want to show the world that we are capable of playing in the Gulf region,” al-Khashoggi told Reuters news agency.

Bahamasis will play their first match on June 17 against Oman.

Bahasa Malaysia’s chief executive, Alia Sohail, has said the team is aiming to be a contender in the Asia-Pacific.

Bahama Football Federation president Alireza al-Atrash said Haite was aiming for a second straight Asian Cup, the first time in the past 25 years that he had won the trophy.

“I hope that we can be a champion,” said Alaa.

Bahamians have not won the Asia Cup since 2011, when they defeated Indonesia 3-0 in a semi-final.

The team’s home ground is the Noura Stadium in Abu Dhabi.
